P. E. R. C.s-Fun, Practical And Essential
For Employee Retention there is nothing better than P. E. R. C.s! When your business has the advantages given by Diana Hall, there will be less turnover, less non-productive time, fewer sick days taken and people that care about doing a better job. They will know that they matter and that the work they do matters.Diana knows, just as you do, that the operation depends on every individual. If they weren't necessary you wouldn't have hired them. Just as each job depends on the other, each employee depends on the others. When they each understand this, then they will take more pride in their job and do it well. When this happens your organization will just naturally get a boost, and that boost will go straight to your bottom line.
The saying that every penny counts has never been more true than it is today. With costs rising and people being more cautious about when and where they spend their money, businesses need to really make everything their employees do add to the success of the business.
Avoiding The Dreaded Clock Watcher's Syndrome
We know that this NEVER happens in your office, but just in case it does here are some PERCs that can help save your staff from "Clock Watcher's Syndrome"P. E. R. C. #1 - Be Respectful:
During a divorce, child's illness or other life changing stressful event. Consider allowing your employee to take a few days off, using some of their sick time, to work through their problem. They'll come back with good as new, bringing the best of themselves back with them.P. E. R. C #2 - Listen:
This is much harder than it sounds. You will get tired of listening to all the problems, pains, etc. However you will soon realize that there is a lot you've been missing out on. For instance did you know that the new girl...?P. E. R. C #3 - Be Personal:
No, don't ask really personal questions. But do know what they need from work to help them be happy at home, and vice-versa. If you walk by an employee's desk and see pictures of their Doberman Pinscher with blue ribbons, be sure to "Ooh" and "Aah" every bit as much as you wouldover another employee's photo of their new grandbaby.
Are Your Employees Looking For A New Beginning?
Perhaps, up to now, it hasn't been all they expected. Same old, same old. Working 8 - 5 inthe same job, in the same industry.
Remembering the bumper sticker: “I owe. I owe. It’s off to work I go!”
But it doesn't have to be that way . . .
As the boss, you want employees that produce.
Which do you think will be more productive:1. Employees that dread coming to work each day and can't wait for quiting time?
or
2. Employees that enjoy coming to work each day and have to be told it's quiting time?
You'll be amazed at the transformation. The same employee will show up to work early, have good ideas on how to increase your profits and do things that need to be done, without being asked.
Discover the talents and abilities your employees have, but never revealed. When they feel stifled by the work they do their performance is also stifled. However, if the same
employees are allowed a little more freedom and shown that their opinions count, they will give you, the employer, more.
What One Satisfied Customer Said.
The Staff really enjoyed the way you involved them in your presentation ... After you were done, many of the staff stayed around and talked to each other, which was a sign they felt connected to each other and that was great to see - Laura Hobbs, Centennial Peaks Hospital, ColoradoCelebrate Yourself
